We have had several customers that use Duracell Procell AA and AAA batteries report battery leakage issues when batteries are installed in equipment for an extended period of time. One customer maintains and repairs safety equipment for emergency responders. The other customer is an engineering firm that uses batteries in engineering equipment. Both customers moved their purchases to Energizer Industrial AA and AAA batteries. Several things to be clear on: (a) the reports are from AA and AAA batteries only. (b) The batteries are left in equipment for an extended period of time.
We have many customers that use Duracell Procell AA and AAA batteries for performance venue microphones and other audio equipment. These are “use once, toss away” applications. These reports won’t affect your use of Procell AA and AAA cells. Other customers that install batteries long term in equipment, you may want to take these reports to heart.
